Collection and Use of Your Personal Information
ParentWise collects information you provide directly to us, such as when you create or modify your account, contact customer support, or otherwise communicate with us. Personal information is information that can be used to identify and contact an individual such as name, email, phone number, postal address, profile picture, payment method, and other information you choose to provide. As a parent or legal guardian, you need to submit personal information to create an account and become a user of ParentWise software and service. By submitting information, you are consenting to our collection of such information. When creating a ParentWise account, we require that you provide information to create your profile, including your name, email, login, password, mailing address, phone number, as well as, information about your child(ren), such as their phone number, type of mobile device, etc. We may also collect information from other internet sources and database services.
When you use ParentWise software and service, we collect information about your child(ren) in the following general categories:
- Location Information: We collect precise location of your child(ren)'s mobile device.
- Contacts Information: We access and store names and contact information from your child(ren)'s mobile device activity.
- Transaction Information: We collect transaction details related to your use of our software and service, including the type of service requested, date and time the service was provided, amount charged, and other related transaction details.
- Device Information: We may collect information about your/your child(ren)'s mobile device, including, for example, the hardware model, operating system and version, software and file names and versions, preferred language, unique device identifier, advertising identifiers, serial number, device motion information, and mobile network information.
- Call and SMS Data: Our software and service monitors communications between child(ren) and other parties. In connection with this, we receive call data, including the date and time of the call or SMS message, and the parties’ phone numbers.
- Log Information: When using our software and service, we collect server logs, which may include information like device IP address, access dates and times, app features or pages viewed, app crashes and other system activity.
ParentWise will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. You may decline to submit any personal information, in which case we may not be able to provide the ParentWise software and service to you. ParentWise may also record information about your use of our software and service, such as dates and times of your use, record of how software and service is used, and details of actions conducted using our software and service. We use this information to monitor and analyze how you use the ParentWise software and service, in order to extend best in class customer service and to both maintain and improve our overall offering of service. When you and your children interact with our software and service, we may collect your unique user identifier and your location through GPS, WiFi, or wireless networks to obtain your location for purposes of providing you with Alerts. We monitor and analyze your interactions with ParentWise, and may use your personal information to send you Alerts and messages in response to your request to perform an activity in connection with your use of our software and service. We may also send messages to you regarding new products or services, features, or enhancements of our software and service; handle and route your customer service questions or concerns, as well as, notify you of upgrades and special offers available. We may also send messages to you regarding daily, weekly, monthly summary of activity reports and other general announcements.
ParentWise compiles and maintains your personal information in a secure system, and it will not be disclosed to any third parties unless upon your request through using our software and service. We may combine your personal information with other users in a consolidated database from which we may extract aggregated information. This is statistical information combined about our users that does not contain any personal information. This aggregated information may be disclosed to third parties for their use. You consent to the use of this aggregated information for creating and developing analytical and statistical reporting about ParentWise software and service, for improving our software and service, and to promote and market ParentWise.
We may disclose your individual personal information if compelled to do so by law, governmental rule or regulation, judicial process, or court order. If we become involved in a merger, acquisition or other transaction involving the sale of some or all of our assets, user information, including personal information collected from you through your use of the Service, could be included in the transferred assets. Should such an event occur, we will use reasonable means to notify you, either through email and/or a prominent notice on our site.
Automatically Collected Information
ParentWise may also collect certain user information automatically. Such information may include: geographical location, speed of travel, information about use of the Service, and the frequency at which users visit local establishments.
ParentWise may automatically collect precise information about the location of your device and the devices of your children. As your children go about their day, ParentWise collects information about their movements, their speed of travel, and their social media activity. The automatically collected information allows us to send you instant notifications should your child enter a restricted area or establishment, exceed speed limits, add a friend to their social networks, call 911, and/or install particular apps.
“Cookies” are small bits of electronic information that a website sends to a visitor’s browser and are stored on the visitor’s hard drive. Like many websites, we employ cookies in certain areas of the software and service to allow us to provide information to make your online experience more convenient. For example, when you return to our site after logging in, cookies provide information to the site so that the site will remember who you are on subsequent visits, speeding up or enhancing your experience of the services offered by, for instance, tailoring content to you.
We may use your automatically collected information for several purposes. Automatically collected geographical location data allows us to monitor your child’s movements and notify you when they enter a restricted area or stray too far from identified locations. Your child’s speed of movement is also automatically collected, allowing us to notify you when he or she exceeds set speed limits you identify.
In addition, your automatically collected information will be aggregated with that of our other users in order to provide us with important trend behavior information. The aggregated information will help us analyze and improve the functionality and features of our software and service. In addition, we may share automatically collected information with our partners. Any automatically collected information shared with our partners will not contain nor be linked to any of your personal information.
We may transfer our rights relating to your automatically collected information here-under to a third party by way of merger, acquisition or asset sale.
Data Management and Security
The personal information that you provide to ParentWise is stored on servers, which are located in secured facilities with restricted access, and protected by protocols and procedures designed to ensure the security of such information. In addition, we restrict access to personal information to our employees who need to know this information in order to develop, operate and maintain the Service. All of our personnel who have access to this information are trained in the maintenance and security of such information. However, no server, computer or communications network or system, or data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect user information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or through the use of the Service and you acknowledge and agree that you provide such information and engage in such transmissions at your own risk. Once we receive a transmission from you, we will endeavor to maintain its security on our systems.
Our Service allows parents to keep track of their children’s location on mobile devices that the parent has designated. The Service is intended to be used by children under 13 only with significant parental involvement and approval.
